Gutter Installation Cost Calculator: A Range Before You Call

Type in your gutter length and a few details about your home. The tool turns the published national price ranges into an estimate for your roof, in about a minute.

A gutter installation cost calculator cannot visit your home, and it should not pretend to. What it can do is simple and useful: take the price ranges that published cost guides report for the whole country, apply them to the size and height of your house, and give you a fair range to judge every quote against. That is the job this tool does, with its workings shown in the open.

Enter your total gutter length, how many stories your home has, and the type of gutter you want. The calculator applies the published 2026 bands, $12 to $25 per foot for standard gutters and $6 to $20 for seamless, adjusts for height and area, and shows your range.

This is an estimate from published national ranges (HomeGuide and Angi, 2026), not a quote. Your actual price is decided after we measure your home, and you get it in an itemized written quote, fixed before work starts. Call +1 (888) 295-0648 for that exact number.

How the Gutter Installation Cost Calculator Works

The math is deliberately simple, because a tool you cannot follow is a tool you cannot trust. Step one: your footage is multiplied by the published per foot band for the gutter type you picked. Standard gutters run $12 to $25 per foot installed. Seamless gutters run $6 to $20 per foot. Step two: the result is adjusted for height. A one story home sits toward the lower part of the band, a two story home in the middle, and a three story home toward the top, because taller work takes longer and carries more risk. Step three: a small area adjustment reflects the fact that labour in a high cost city runs above the national middle, and labour in a low cost town runs below it. The final range is rounded to the nearest ten dollars.

For a sense of scale, the published guides put a typical full home installation at $2,200 to $5,000 in total. If your estimate lands below that, you probably have a smaller home or a short total run. If it lands above, your home is large, tall, or both. Either way, the estimate is doing its job: it tells you the neighborhood your real quotes should live in.

What the Estimate Covers, and What It Cannot See

The bands behind this tool cover a normal, complete job: the gutter runs themselves, standard downspouts, corners, hangers and sealing, fitted and pitched so water drains the right way. What no calculator can see is the state of your home. Fascia boards that turn out to be rotten need repair before new gutters can hang straight. A very steep or cut up roof takes longer to work on. Long runs may need extra downspouts. Those are exactly the things a written quote is for, and they should appear on it as separate lines you can question, not as a surprise added at the door.

Two things sit outside this tool on purpose. Removing an old system is priced on the replacement cost calculator, because the published replacement band includes tear off and disposal. And gutter guards are a separate decision with their own prices, explained on the gutter guards cost guide. Bundling everything into one number is how homeowners end up unable to tell what they paid for.

From an Estimate to an Exact Price

Use the range this tool gives you as a yardstick. When quotes come in, divide each one by your gutter length and compare the per foot figure with the published band. A quote inside the band with an itemized scope is easy to judge. A quote far above it needs a clear reason, such as copper gutters, box gutters or major fascia work. A quote far below it usually means part of the job is missing. The full guide to the numbers is on our gutter installation cost page, and the work itself is described on the installation service page. If your city is open, your local page carries the same ranges with local timing notes.

And our own promise, stated plainly: the ranges are a guide, not your price. Your price is decided after we measure your home, and you get it in an itemized written quote before any work starts. The quote is the price you pay. It does not change later, and it never depends on signing today.

FAQ

Calculator questions, answered straight

Is the calculator result the price I will pay?

No. The result is an estimate built from published national ranges, so you can walk into any quote conversation knowing what fair looks like. Your actual price is decided after we measure your home, and you get that price in an itemized written quote, fixed before work starts.

How do I measure my gutter length?

Add up the length of every run along your roof edges, in feet. A tape measure on the ground under each eave is close enough for an estimate. Most single family homes land between 120 and 220 feet. If your home has several roof sections, measure each one and add them together.

Why is my neighbor's quote different from this range?

Quotes differ because scope differs. One price may include new downspouts, corners and stronger hangers, while a cheaper one covers the channels only. Height, roof pitch and access move the price too. Ask every company for the itemized version and compare line by line.

Does the estimate include removing my old gutters?

No. This tool prices a new installation. If an old system has to come off first, use the replacement cost calculator instead. Its published band covers tear off and disposal as part of the total.

Want the exact number, not an estimate?

One call gets your home measured and an itemized quote in writing. The price we quote is the price you pay.
